The Big Space Out-of-School Club is open for business as usual after a break during the summer holidays.

We now have a new manager is place, Rufus Stone, who comes to us with over 20 years experience of providing support to children and families in roles including outdoor instructor, play therapist, bereavement counsellor and child development officer. He has worked for a wide range of agencies and in many different settings from family centres, schools and nurseries to the voluntary sector and local authorities. He is very much looking forward to building upon the already excellent service the Big Space provides and making it into a resource that is at the heart of the local, and wider, community.

For any parents or carers that are not familiar with The Big Space, we are a childcare facility based in Melrose Primary School. You will find us in the annexe building at the school in the area known as "The Big Space" - hence our name! We run a Breakfast Club (Mon-Fri 8am-9am) which is ideal for parents and carers who require childcare before school starts and we run an After-School Club (Mon-Fri 3pm-5.30pm). We still have spaces for both clubs, although some days are limited. For more information you can visit our website or give Rufus a call on 07882 868997.

Details will follow about our next committee meeting to which any interested parents are welcome.
